Why We Pray a Pastoral Prayer A Pastoral Prayer is a special moment in our worship when the pastor leads the congregation in prayer—bringing our praises, needs, and concerns before God as one body. It reflects the shepherd’s role of interceding for the people and guiding them into God’s presence. The Bible encourages us to come together in prayer: “If two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.” (Matthew 18:19) Through the pastoral prayer, we are reminded that we are not alone.
