A Heart’s Intent📝
“A Heart’s Intent”
Scripture Focus: “I tell you, this man went down to his house justified more than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” — Luke 18:14 (NKJV)
💬 Introduction
God is not impressed by appearances, religious titles, or outward practices—He looks deeper into the heart’s intent. In Luke 18:14, Jesus reveals a powerful truth: it is not the proud, outwardly religious Pharisee who is justified, but the humble tax collector whose heart genuinely seeks mercy.
❤️ What Is the Heart’s Intent?
The Pharisee prayed to be seen, boasting of his righteousness.
The Tax Collector prayed to be forgiven, broken over his sin.
One sought recognition.
The other sought repentance.
